The Giving Kitchen The Giving Kitchen's mission is to provide emergency assistance to metro Atlanta restaurant workers facing unanticipated crisis. The intent of The Giving Kitchen is to be the beyond-expectation resource at times of unanticipated crisis for anyone employed in the Atlanta restaurant community. Peace of mind that we are a stronger, beloved community is the outcome we hope to create. In 2017 the Heirloom Foundation provided funding for emergency assistance programs.
WINGS, WINGS Program The vision of WINGS is that all kids will develop social and emotional skills so they can be successful in life. Our mission is to teach these skills – how to behave well, make good decisions and build healthy relationships - to elementary school age kids. We do this by weaving a comprehensive social and emotional learning curriculum into a fresh and fun after school program. Kids get the life lessons they need to succeed and be happy and they get a safe place to call home after school. In 2016 the Heirloom Foundation supported after school programming in pubic schools in North Charleston, SC that will provide life skills, including cooking classes, to at risk youth.
Prevention First, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Program SADD is a peer-to-peer education, prevention and activism organization dedicated to preventing destructive decisions. In 2015 The Heirloom Foundation provided funding for 6 Chicago-based SADD student leadership teams to attend the statewide Domeshift event. Much more than a one day/one shot dose of prevention education to the participating chapters, IL SADD will follow up with the schools and provides ongoing assistance to student advocates. Through our partnership with Prevention First, the Heirloom Foundation is having a lasting effect on the schools and communities by enabling them to take advantage of this opportunity.
